Biography
Doctor Who? That would seem to be the question. Although he guards his real name, he readily answers to the title of The Doctor. Born a Time Lord on the planet Gallifrey, The Doctor has proven himself to be one of the most intelligent and noble people of his planet -- despite being labeled a "renegade" by his peers. The Doctor did little to counter these accusations by "borrowing" a Type 40 TARDIS without authorization. In his defense, The Doctor has since used the TARDIS to travel space and time, helping those in need when he can wherever his blue box takes him.
He's not all roses though. Although beneath the exterior is a man of kindness and benevolence, outwardly he can come off as critical of those intellectually inferior and a bit 'gruff.' He has an affinity for the planet Earth and its inhabitants, even if their warring and less gentle aspects rub him the wrong way. In some part, he truly believes in the potential of the human race.
Capable of traveling time and space, The Doctor has seen things that most would never dream of -- good, bad, and otherwise. He's an adventurer and an explorer. A scientist and a man of the arts. He is capable of great kindness, and great wisdom. Yet, despite all of this, there's something lonesome about him. This may be why he often seeks out companions to travel with him in time and space. Therein lies the rub. The Doctor can live thousands of years, regenerate when his life draws to a close . . . but they will always leave him eventually. He knows this, and that is his tragedy.
But still, he reaches out for connections and travels the universe in search of those that need his help. He fights the things that others would run away from. He knows there's always going to be something infecting this universe with its ills, and horrors, and madness. He gets into his blue box and goes -- because somewhere out there, there's someone in need of a Doctor.
Relationships
Susan Foreman: Granddaughter to the Doctor, Susan was with him when he stole the TARDIS and escapes from Gallifrey.
The Master: A time lord rival of the Doctor. The Master is a highly intelligent, though criminally-minded counterpart to The Doctor. Desiring universal domination, the Master is a very dangerous foe.
Davros: A scientist from the planet Skaro who creates the hate-filled, emotionless race known as the Daleks. A deformed megalomaniac, Davros and his creations are a severe threat to the Doctor and all life forms.
Abilities & Technology
Type 40 TARDIS : The TARDIS, or "Time And Relative Dimension in Space," is an outdated time-traveling spaceship created by the Time Lords. Time Lord technology means that the machine is vastly larger on the inside than its outward appearance would allow one to assume.Fitted with a "chameleon circuit," the ship is meant to camouflage itself with its surroundings by appearing as something innocuous. However, after an accident the circuit broke and The Doctor's TARDIS has been stuck in the form of an old British Police Box ever since. It is still usually ignored or seen as a quirky little box on a random street corner. Even if not ignored, entry to the TARDIS is very particular to those whom The Doctor has entrusted with a key or whom carries a Type 40 Gallifreyan TARDIS key on hand. The Type 40 may be outdated by Time Lord standards, but it always seems to lead The Doctor where he is needed most. Notable attributes of the TARDIS include the ability to travel in time and space, create a translation matrix to psychically translate any language to its passengers regardless of distance from the TARDIS, and force field technology that can be cast over a very short distance from the TARDIS' location. However, most notably is the fact that the TARDIS is actually a living, organic creature and contains an incredible intelligence. [Travel within time and space - SPEED increased to 10. Knowledge of all languages. Defense from small arms, lasers, and small explosions when within 20 ft of the TARDIS.]
Sonic Screwdriver: A crystal-powered tool often used for lock picking and creating sonic waves to, for example, detonate a bomb from a distance. The Doctor is constantly upgrading the screwdriver in his boredom, leading to advanced usages. However, the Sonic Screwdriver cannot do harm to another living thing. [Lock-picking. Sonic wave creation. Technology manipulation.]
Psychic Paper: A piece of paper that projects whatever the wielder is thinking of onto it. The Doctor utilizes the psychic paper in times that deceit or espionage becomes necessary, allowing him to pretend to be someone else and carry the necessary credentials for whatever role he needs to play. Those with high psychic faculties can easily see right through this ruse. [Advantage in espionage or deceitful situations.]
Time Lord Regeneration: Time Lord's have a handy trick. When they are approaching death, they may trigger a biological effect that engages a physical transformation (and is accompanied by a change in personality, although key personality traits remain unchanged). Regeneration can also be triggered by choice, or prevented by choice. A regeneration can often be a violent experience and results in a weakened Time Lord for a period of time following the regeneration. A Time Lord can regenerate a total of 12 times in their life. [Prevents death if activated at key moment. During Regeneration: ENG increased to 2.]
Weaknesses
Time Lord Physiology: While Time Lords have a physiology that resemble humans in a lot of ways, there are some differences. Time Lords have two hearts, for example. Their biological make-up also allows for their infamous regeneration. Yet, despite all of this, their bodies suffer the same weaknesses as humans and can be killed as any other mortal can. [Normal human weaknesses]
Regeneration Limits: While undergoing a regeneration, a Time Lord is vulnerable to attack. They are sometimes unconscious for a period of time, weakened, and often confused as they attempt to understand their new body. This is a prime opportunity to attack a Time Lord. A Time Lord placed in a situation where regeneration would lead to nothing but a cycle of deaths (e.g. in the vacuum of space) would also be considered a nightmare. [Weak during Regeneration period. Will not regenerate in certain situations.]
